We at Sugar & Bows are always looking to expand our recipe collection to include new treats. We've tried making a few types of pastries but when we saw these last weekend, we knew we had to make some soon! We worked all Saturday long, creating some decor for a few upcoming events, and thought we deserved a treat. We visited Antoine's Pastry Shop, in Newton and picked up these pastries for a coffee break.
Antoine's cases were filled with cookies, cupcakes, pies, and breads, but we had our eye on the pastries. We started with the heart shaped pastry which was light, chewy, and perfectly sweet. The top of the heart had a thin coating of sugar, which made it crispy. Then we decided on a cinnamon twist. The twist was made of flaky pastry dough that was twisted into a ring with lots of fragrant cinnamon and sugar.
We enjoyed our pastries and coffee talk and took pride in a hard day's work.
Sugar Suggestion: Tell us your favorite type of pastry and we'll try to showcase it in a post!
