Well... we were invited to a 4th of July party and were told we could not come unless we arrived with these treats in hand.
So we figured this gave us the opportunity to give you a How To.
The great thing about these cake balls is that you can't mess them up! They look even better if they are dripping down the sides like real ice cream.
Have fun and send us pictures of yours!
Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops
3 Bags of Melting Chocolates
1 Box of Joy Mini Ice Cream Cone 42 count
(We found these in the ice cream cone section of our local Stop & Shop. Wohoo! No special trips to the party store or internet seaches.)
After you mix the cake pop ingredients, scope the mixture with a small cookie scoop.
Do not roll these with your hands because they look more like ice cream when they are just scooped.
Place one ball on top of an ice cream cone and gently push the ball into place.
Once you have completed all the cones, then place them in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes.
In the meantime, start melting your chocolate. Once the cones are cool start dipping them into the chocolate. If the ball falls off the cone then just use a wooden skewer to pick it up and place it back on the cone. You can always cover up any mistakes with sprinkles or more chocloate.
As soon as you have dipped the cone start decorating before the chocolate drys. Add some sprinklers or even add another layer of chocolate to make it look like hot fudge.
Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Sugar Suggestions: Always have a package of wooden skewers on hand in the kitchen. These great sticks have helped us out of a lot of sticky situations.
