One party we anxiously awaited planning was Julie's baby shower! With
Sugar & Bows being down a person and planning a shower for Bows, we recruited lots of help. Inspired by the classic film "The Sound of Music"
and its most famous song, we created a day
celebrating Julie and all of her favorite things.

Anyone who knows Julie knows that she loves a little glitz and glam in her life. She loves glitter and sparkly things so we decorated with sequined table runners and squares on all the tables, and also displayed her favorite purple tulips throughout the rooms. We also wanted to incorporate the lyrics from the song "My Favorite Things" so you will notice those around the room as well.

To keep everyone having fun there were some great games to celebrate the new mom-to-be. Guests took a guess at Julie's age in some fun photos provided by her family, then they guessed how many candy pacifiers were in a jar, and even tried their luck with baby themed scratch cards! In addition to the games, two of Julie's oldest friends made a banner with pictures of Julie when she was just a baby herself!
Guests were also asked to bring a book to start the baby's library, and share their favorite nursery stories with the newest addition to Julie's family.
While Julie opened all of her beautiful (and tiny) baby presents, everyone treated themselves to cupcakes then filled up a favor box with Julie's favorite cookies. These "Brown Paper Packages Tied up with String" were a big hit, and we displayed them on a table decorated with a little animal print, another one of Julie's favorites.
Only one more month until we get to meet the baby. Hopefully it got some of it's favorite things at the shower!
Congratulations Julie & Greg!

Definitely the cutest baby shower I've ever been to!!
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Things was a wonderful theme that was exquisitely executed! So much love expressed, too.

It was a beautiful occasion that was filled with all my favorite people. Baby Bows is so blessed to have so many wonderful people in its life already. Thank you all for making the day so special.
